Pentax *ist DL - I chose the DL over the Konica-Minolta 5D, Nikon D50, and Canon Rebel XT for the following reasons: price, quality/array of compatible lenses, small size, nice build, simple menus, good ergonomics, SD cards, AA batteries, good view finder, DOF preview, mirror lockup. So far, I'm pleased with the kit lens, although there is some vignetting at the wide/open end. The AF and buffer speed is not as quick as some of the competition, but it is reliable and reasonably fast. Noise (lack of) is excellent up to 400 ISO, 800 is good. 1600 and 3200 exhibit a fair amount of noise. I wish it had some kind of image stabilization though. All of these were taken with the Pentax 18-55mm kit lens.
